FAQs
How is Restoration’s teaching different from other programs?
We recognize and appreciate the vast uniqueness of God’s Kingdom. We do not believe in competition, but rather collaboration. Restoration is not meant as a replacement for other discipleship programs but rather an inner healing program meant to be a steppingstone - a launchpad so to speak - into greater effectiveness for ongoing discipleship programs.
Where does Restoration begin?
Our approach is a little bit different. We believe in order to have real and lasting change, we first must go back and look at our foundation. In order to move forward with life-giving habits, we must first find where we got off track. We all have formed belief systems about God and life based on some very key foundational truths…or lies. So, we begin Restoration by asking: Where are we believing a lie in place of the truth?
Okay… so we discovered a faulty foundation, then what?
Rather than engaging in in-depth conversation about your past or current hurt, once we have identified the lie you have been believing, we begin moving forward. Restoration. Rebuilding the foundation. It is much easier to add positive elements into your life once you have a solid foundation. Restoration is not a counseling program; it is a deep dive into the wounded places of our hearts. Don’t misunderstand us – we will absolutely teach habits and give you tools to live a life rich in peace and joy, but we will do it in a designated order. An unhealthy foundation cannot support even the best tools or habits. It is in rebuilding your foundation that you will find true freedom.
What is the difference between the 8-session and 16-session courses?
The 8-session course is made up of eight, 45-minute lessons and covers the most foundational and impactful parts of the Restoration teachings. This accelerated series is a great place to start. It will give you a taste of Restoration and a solid foundation you can build on, in a shorter amount of time.
The 16-session course is made up of sixteen, 90-minute lessons. It covers all the topics in the 8-session course, plus a broad range of additional topics. This is a wraparound program designed to address a much larger spectrum of issues. Due to the adult nature of some topics (abuse, addictions, pornography, secret sin) this course is intended for adults.
