Rebuilding the Foundation of Life: (16-session) Expanded Series
This course is designed to help guide you through a process of pinpointing where your own heart has been wounded, and letting God heal those wounds. We are not talking about external wear and tear. We are talking about fixing deep flaws: uprooting lies, transforming thought patterns, rebuilding identity, and learning to forgive. Let’s dive in!
*We typically recommend completing one session per week. However, feel free to set the pace which feels right for you.

Part 2
Hurt starts us on a path where we become exposed to all kinds of junk, and it can ultimately wreak havoc with our relationships and our future. This lesson gives a vivid demonstration on what hurt does, and how it affects our lives. We also share where anxiety and fear come from and how we can fight back.

Part 1
Everyone has a story. It starts out the same. We each are born into a world where our Heavenly Father loves us and has rich, beautiful plans for our lives. Unfortunately, we live in a universe that is at war. Our enemy, the devil, has a scheme for us. This lesson gives Biblical perspective on who are we really fighting against?

Part 2
God’s intent is for each of us to have our parents teach us Biblical foundations as we grow up. But the truth is, many of us missed hearing those truths. Part 2 helps us see why they are important and how God wants to help us implement these truths in our lives.

Part 2
We have looked extensively at how much the enemy hates you, and how much he wants to get you off God’s perfect plan for your life. But have you ever thought about how close God actually is to you, or how valuable you are to Him?

Part 1
Our concept of God is often formed by very flawed sources: our families, the media, education, and even churches or religion. As part of our journey to true freedom, we need to examine these sources in our own lives.

Part 2
If our view of God has been tainted in the past, then we have been wrong about who He is. (We will talk more about who He really is next week.) We need a proper view of Him before we can even think about coming to a conclusion. Let’s take a look at why bad things happen in the first place and address the age-old question of: Where was God when I was hurt?

We have spent a lot of time looking backward at the hurts that have been inflicted upon us. But now we’re going to start taking some time to look at the good things God has done and is still doing.

Part 1
Let’s face it, many of the things we saw as children (or didn’t see) in our earthly dad have carried over in the way we see God. This is an issue we can dive into, while still having grace and honor for our earthly parents.

Part 2
Have you developed a spirit that is wounded or starved for parental affection? Even if you had loving parents, there are some needs that ultimately cannot be met through people alone; you have to find them through your “real” Dad. And He can’t wait to be introduced to you…

Part 1
Many people serve God out of a works mentality. Religiosity cripples us because it keeps us stuck in a performance mindset. We can become obsessed with how good we are doing, or how bad everyone else is doing. There is a difference between Christianity and religiosity, understanding the distinction is key.

We are adopted through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Ed shares his own experience of being “adopted” by our Heavenly Father and then makes the opportunity available for each person to share in this same adoption experience.

Now we begin to move forward together toward our destiny. How will we choose to walk? What mindset will we take with us? Our response might just determine how we spend the next season of our lives.

Many avoid the topic of sexual sin because people can feel uncomfortable talking about it, but on our journey to true freedom, it is too important an issue to ignore.

How prevalent is pornography? Prevalent enough that, in today’s popular culture, the stigma has essentially disappeared. Men have always struggled with lust, of course, but with the explosion of digital media the fight has gotten more intense.
*Viewer discretion is advised. While we acknowledge lust and pornography is not only an issue for men, this content is generally geared towards men. However, women may find it useful as well.

As we open ourselves continually to truth, it does just what God promises, and makes us free. Free of shame, free of lies, free from our past sins, and free to grow and thrive in this life. This lesson is all about freedom.

Part 1
We talk this week about “Praying the Word”. Truly there is something powerful about doing this. Whether we are in the middle of being tempted or not, we can always be confident in praying the Word of God. In every situation, God has something to say. By praying those things back to Him, we learn to guard ourselves against the lies of the enemy.

Many of us have given attention to satan’s accusations and lies our whole lives, and that’s exactly why we believe them in our hearts. This week, we want the lies that remain to be cut off from us and the shame that has been attached to us removed.

Part 1
As long as we hold onto the hurts in our lives, we will be controlled by those who have wounded us. Our foundation will not be solid. This is a huge mistake that many hurt people make, and before long, their pain defines them. The truth is forgiveness is not an option. It is a command. We don’t have to let circumstances dictate our outlook on life. Why give another person that much power over us?

Part 2
It’s time that we look some things squarely in the eye. There have been events and issues in our lives that we have allowed to direct our emotions and actions. But we are called to walk in the Higher Realm, and to stop allowing events to dictate how we think and feel.

Part 1
This Forgiveness Workshop, for many, is one of the most challenging but most rewarding sessions in Restoration. We often have strong reactions when we come face to face with the memories of those who hurt us. Whether we choose to forgive or hold onto a grudge is a key factor to the degree of freedom we receive.
(We strongly recommend you do not attempt to complete this session until you have viewed Session 13: Forgiveness Teaching.)

The Bible is clear in showing our words matter. We can create atmospheres of faith or unbelief with our mouths. When we put our faith to words, and ask the Holy Spirit to make something so, this is no small thing.

If you are like most people, you came to Restoration because you realized you had been hurt and wanted to get free. It’s been a long process, but if you have waded through it and if you are walking in the healing that we pray was the result, then you are ready for a new season in your life. What’s next you ask? We’ll give you our suggestions.
