For such a time as this

Dear Ones,

I want to take the opportunity of this month's newsletter to update all our Foundation Partners and supporters of changes I am making both personally and in Restoration. I started Restoration Ministries in 1987.

As of January 2027, I will have been running Restoration as founder and director for 40 years. On July 20th I turned 79 years old. Over the past five years, I have endured a number of challenges physically which have caused me to step back and slow up. During this time, I worked from home with my staff coming to my house to keep me updated. It was during this season, I realized the time was coming for me to gradually pass the torch of running Restoration to a younger generation.

Over the past three years, we have been training Baesam Freske to take on the role of administrator, which she has been carrying out beautifully for two years. It became quickly evident that Baesam is far more gifted than simply being the administrator. As I watched her walk in this role, I have sensed the anointing and calling of God on her life to be in a higher level of authority.

Baesam ( pronounced: “Buy-us-some”) first came to us 11 years ago. God used Restoration to dynamically change Baesam’s life. After finishing the school, she stayed on as a volunteer, serving countless hours, with a heart to spread Restoration and see other’s lives change through its teachings, just as it had in her own life. Baesam would go on to later become one of the staff and has since then worked in all areas of Restoration. From volunteering to vacuum floors and clean the office, to overseeing the staff and representing Restoration in the community, Baesam serves with the same servant heart and love of Jesus that I recognized in her from the beginning.

I am confident in Baesam, and I am even more confident that it is God who is calling me to appoint Baesam to a higher role in Restoration. I am officially passing the torch and recognizing her as the new director of Restoration Ministries.

As I pass this torch, God is giving her even greater vision and anointing. I believe Baesam has the same vision that I have for Restoration and will be very successfully in carrying it to the next generation. I believe that Baesam will take Restoration to places even further than I could have ever reached.

As for me, I am taking a step back. I will continue in my role as founder and advisor to support Baesam and in helping to raise funds for Restoration, but I will be working part-time hours. I am excited about this shift. I have run the race, and I am embracing this new season of rest God has put before me.

I am asking you to join with me in backing Baesam as the new director. I am asking that you show her the same level of love and support that you have shown me all these years. I believe that God has called her for such a time as this, to carry Restoration into the next generation of hurting people.

I will always have a heart for Restoration and for each of you. Thank you for the love and support you have shown me all these years. I count it one of the greatest honors of my life.

Your brother in Christ,

 Ed Glaspey
